The Story of French

Calling all French lovers - you have to read The Story of French. I can’t imagine the kind of dedication it must take to write such an informative and interesting book, but I’m definitely grateful to the people that did it. It’s a reference book on my favorite subject that reads more like a novel - I enjoyed it immensely.

Have you a recommendation for a dictionary, or other source, for current French colloquialisms? The Petit Larousse 2006 has some (e.g., BSBG, or “bon chic bon genre”) but to really understand French blogs, or readers’ comments to articles in Le Monde, for example, I need something deeper.

I have been learning French for three years and travel to France often. I find learning French to be such a fun hobby.
