Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

It’s official: the 7th and final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, will be released in July, but everyone is taking pre-orders. I debated between the standard and deluxe versions, but in the end I’m just going to read it a couple of times, so I went for the plain version. I’m looking forward to and dreading this book simultaneously. It will really be the end of an era.

My family and I can’t wait for this book either! We do have a wonderful dilemma though…my husband and I will be in London on July 21st. Now the question is do we order one here so we will have it when we get back or do we stand in line there and get it so we have something to read on the plane? We will be in France before that but will miss out on the French version until later (I have 1-3 so far). Oh well.

    Happy reading!

bonjour Laura. I can’t believe this actually the last Harry Potter. It all seems so surreal. What will J.K. Rowling write about now? I’m interested to see. It’s a nice volume of books though.

Ah, but who is going to see him in the play where he is nude? I could see crossing the pond for that, lol.

About a year or so ago (when the previous book was released), I remember a newsletter you wrote in your about French website which mentioned that you found another book or series very compelling reading. Could you please remind me what book it was that you mentioned? Was it perhaps Eragon or some other series?

Many thanks and hope you enjoyed this final book. I really enjoyed this final book, by the way. And yes, it certainly is the end of an era.

  5. Hi Michael,

I’m not positive, but it was probably the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde – that’s the only series I can think of that I might mention in the same breath as Harry Potter (though they are nothing alike).
