I found the Organic Tuscanyt hrough a Google search for "unique vacations " and it is truly that. Not only did I experience Tuscany, but experienced country living and cooking. Shilpa, Ricardo and their entire "crew" are wonderful. The cooking classes were amazing and our food was really delicious - the best part was eating under the old chestnut tree every meal. I recommend this vacation to anyone who wants to visit Tuscany - a great way to start and if you still want more, extend and go on to your other cities - or better yet, go back a different season, cook different recipes, and go from there. Thank you Organic Tuscany for such an amazing experience!

Interesting question. Even though it's not a can, if I had to come up with a name for it, that's what I would say - pass the can of Parmesan. I just asked my husband and he agreed (I'm from Illinois and he is from Pennsylvania, if that helps.) But we both agree that we'd be far more likely not to refer to the container at all - we'd just say "Please pass the Parmesan." Hope this helps! :-)

LKL: What do you call the container that things like Comet, Ajax, Kraft Parmesian Cheese, etc. come packaged in? It's driving me crazy. It's not a 'box', it's not a 'can', and you can't seriously expect people to ask "Can you pass the 'cylinder' of Parmasian cheese?" If possible, could you reply to me at johnjaneri@yahoo.com? Many Thanks.

The weather varied. We started in July, so we went north and east first, so that we could take advantage of the summer in the north, and then be in the south when it started getting cooler in September. Yes, we found everyone very friendly.

This sounds like a wonderful experience, something I'd like to try, though on a much smaller scale. How was the weather? Did you find people to be friendly along the way?

Yes, this is a beautiful site. A must see. The location is lovely as well. I was fortunate to go there after a rain so the air was clear and one could see for miles over the valley of the Rhine.

I suggest going as early as possible in the morning before all the tour buses start arriving.

Thank you so much for your cooking school reviews - they are very insightful.

However I felt compelled to comment because I think the reply to this Convivio Rome review is disgusting (By Sally & Gudio - although I think they mean Guido).

It all smacks of 'Well it's YOUR fault you didn't choose another week / think Pesto is interesting enough / don't understand Italian paring knives / were 'in a hurry that day'.

What nonsense - whatever happened to the customer being right? Get off your high horse and accept some criticism!!
