Animate Me

Animate Me - Ruth Clampett - 3 hearts awardDespite its male protagonist, I think women are more likely to enjoy Ruth Clampett’s Animate Me than men. The author tried to offer a man’s perspective, but it still feels very chick lit-y to me – which is no bad thing, just surprising. In any case, it’s a cute story for the most part about an animator who falls for a company executive, and the drawings sprinkled throughout are a nice touch. But when it all goes wrong – doesn’t it always go wrong at some point in chick lit? – the fall-out is pretty far-fetched. I enjoyed reading it but I find unrealistic plot twists irritating, so I won’t be seeking out any more from this author.
