Barbara Freethy’s Some Kind of Wonderful is a story about a “no roots” guy and a “left almost at the altar” gal brought together by a baby dropped on their doorstep.
It has the occasional moment, but most of the book is rather tedious. There’s a lot of rehashing the same issues – searching for the baby’s mother, dealing with the former fiancé – which is just downright boring. The ending isn’t completely obvious, but nor is it necessarily worth wading through 350+ pages.
