We’re coming up on our 4th anniversary here in Guadeloupe, and this is the first year that we’ve really been affected by a hurricane.
Tropical Storm Erica – which destroyed Dominica in 2015 – did nothing but chop the tops off some of our banana trees.
2017 is another story: Hurricane Irma passed off the northeastern coast of Guadeloupe, and Hurricane Maria off the southern. The latter was much closer to us and damaged or destroyed most of our trees – including the bananas once again.
