I don’t know why so many people write “loose” when they mean “lose,” but the fix is simple: just lose the extra o! Loose vs Lose

Very cute:)
Then you have ‘choose and chose,’ which even writing them now looks funny.
If you are speaking or writing in ‘English’ then you must spell in ‘English’ otherwise you are speaking or teaching ‘American’. I refer of course to “colors vs Colours.” People learning English should be made aware of the two spellings as they would seem foolish writing Americanisms into job applications etc in England.
“Dove vs Dived” being another case in point. Apart from that Laura you’re doing a fine job teaching me French. Merci.
English has got to be the strangest language, don’t ya think??
Wonderful but full of weird rules and exceptions and to the rules LOL…… G 🙂
Andy –
If you are referring to my English website (https://www.lawlessenglish.com), there is a link at the bottom of every page called “My English” which explains exactly which version of English I am teaching. American English is still English; there is no language called “American.”
I also have a page that discusses spelling differences.
