{"id":814,"date":"2010-07-31T15:00:38","date_gmt":"2010-07-31T13:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lklawless.com\/blog\/?p=814"},"modified":"2023-05-17T17:42:40","modified_gmt":"2023-05-17T21:42:40","slug":"6-corners-of-the-hexagon-bastille-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lklawless.com\/blog\/6-corners-of-the-hexagon-bastille-day\/","title":{"rendered":"6 corners of the Hexagon: Bastille Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While planning our trip, we&#8217;d decided to celebrate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawlessfrench.com\/reading\/bastille-day\/\">Bastille Day<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawlessfrench.com\/reading\/strasbourg\/\">Strasbourg<\/a>, and as luck would have it the town of Niederbronn held their f\u00eate on the 13th, so we were able to attend two completely different celebrations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lklawless.com\/images\/niederbronn-bastille.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lklawless.com\/images\/niederbronn-bastilles.jpg\" alt=\"Bastille Day in Niederbronn-les-Bains\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\"><\/a>The fireworks were terrific in both, but Niederbronn&#8217;s were preceded by a rousing speech and a short rendition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawlessfrench.com\/reading\/marseillaise\/\">la Marseillaise<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Strasbourg&#8217;s, on the other hand, looked like they might be rained out when a rather violent storm started up, but it was over within 45 minutes.
