Colmar and Strasbourg, France
Colmar is a small but unbelievably cute town in the French region of Alsace, while Strasbourg is a beautiful city. Alsace changed between French and German hands a few times, and remains a cultural mix of the two countries. Note that the links on this page will lead to French descriptions, but if you scroll down you can read the English translation: Alsace, France

Alsace eh? I’d love to visit –
mainly to try the Gewurztraminer wine there. It’s unique in Alsace as it has the clear aroma
of lychees. Quite different from the Germain Gewurz. Have one for me!

Alsace is a unique bit of France with a fascinating history – I spent a year living there a
few years ago. Strasbourg and Colmar are well worth visiting, but my favourite places were the
villages and farms in the Vosges mountains
