Mission Impossible: III

I saw Mission Impossible: III the other night, and was happily surprised – it was pretty good. I’m not a huge fan of Tom Cruise, but I don’t dislike him either, and he is a great actor. I was a little worried that the MI theme might have been overdone, but part 3 was definitely worth the cost of admission.

Internet Movie Database

I love movies, and I’m usually very good at putting faces to names. But when I can’t, the Internet Movie Database is the first place I turn. You can search this incredible resource by actor, movie, theme, and more, and the range of information – trivia, comments, goofs… – is amazing. I’ve spent many a happy hour just browsing around, learning more about my favorite actors, movies, and television shows.

Don’t miss “Cars”!

I saw Pixar’s latest animated film, Cars, on Friday. It was wonderful! Funny and cute and clever… those guys never cease to amaze me. I love how these animated films can be rated G and yet have adult jokes hidden in plain sight. Has anyone else seen it yet?

Crash

I finally saw the movie Crash this weekend. Wow. What an amazing mix of horrible and heart-warming stories, and unexpected switches between the two extremes. At one point, I was crying so hard that I nearly started hyperventilating. The only other movies that have moved me quite like that were Requiem for a Dream and Sling Blade (both of which left me crying for ages after the movie was over). I thought this was an incredible film.
