Just found this site and I think it’s a brilliant concept. CouchSurfing is a community of tens of thousands of people in 200 countries who like to travel and to meet people. If you’re going to, say, Barcelona, you do a search to find people who live there and are willing to meet or even to offer you a couch for a night or two. It’s all free and there’s a system of verification and vouching to make sure it stays safe. Check it out!

Hi Laura, Thanks for stopping by Veggies….Im already getting email
feedback about your featured gourmet recipes, thanks for letting me share this with my blog
readers.
I checked out this site. Maybe Im being overly-cautious but is there really
much in the way of security when using this service? Just verifying a person’s name and
address or having one other person vouch for them, I don’t know, doesn’t sound like you could
be sure of who you were staying with. Nice idea though, I just don’t think the world is a safe
enough place to make this workable. Seems to be popular though, hope its all happy trails for
their members. BFN, G
Hi Geraldine,
They address security issues in their FAQ. Obviously it’s not
for everyone, but it seems like an interesting way to meet people.
