Hummus Variations

I put together this list of hummus variations and I’d love to know if you can think of any others. I’m not really looking for completely different recipes (although I might do a separate list of those); just ideas for one or two additions that make a big difference.

Have you ever tried making houmus with sprouted chick peas – it is quite different but really delicious. Other additons as before

Use dried chickpeas (soaked overnight) and cooked 45 min at least.

Shape in a ring, for instance, and add toasted pine nuts and extra olive oil all over. Decorate with cilantro! Serve with well-toasted pita triangles.

    Bon Appetit!!

  4. Annabelle – I’ve heard of that, but I’ve never tried it. Maybe I will.

    🙂

Nadine – That sounds interesting and very simple. No tahini or garlic?

I wish you every sucess with your decision to move.

Have you tried beetroot hummus? It is really simple – just add some canned beets and a little of the juice to the chickpeas when blending them. Test for flavour – you may not need to use much lemon or lime jiuce as the beets are in vinegar. It is a fantastic pink colour and really yummy.
