A friend of mine sent me the link to this Evolution of Dance video, by Judson Laipply. Not only is he a terrific dancer, but it’s fun – and funny – to see him sum up the evolution of dance in the US in just 6 minutes. Be sure you have JavaScript and FlashPlayer enabled and your speakers turned up!
Hummus Variations
I put together this list of hummus variations and I’d love to know if you can think of any others. I’m not really looking for completely different recipes (although I might do a separate list of those); just ideas for one or two additions that make a big difference.
English Mistakes
I can’t help it – it just makes my skin crawl to see certain errors, like “between you and I” and “this program has it’s own spellchecker.” It’s one thing for non-native speakers to make these kinds of mistakes and for the occasional typo to slip through, but writing (and speaking) well really isn’t that difficult. Though I’m not an English teacher, I’ve always had a certain knack for grammar and spelling, and I hope that my English site can help cut down on obvious mistakes.
I hate cilantro!
You know, I really thought I was alone in this, and then I was fortunate enough to spot this link: http://www.ihatecilantro.com. Now that I’ve seen it, it makes perfect sense, as my dislike of this foul-tasting herb can’t possibly be unique, but it’s nice to know that there’s a whole community of like-minded people.
My never-ending gratitude to Geraldine at Veggies, Yarns & Tails for sharing this link!
Moving to France
Well, I’ve done it now… I finally got my act together (after more than 10 years) and figured out how to move to France. Basically, it just comes down to having enough money to obtain the long stay visa. OK, it’s a little more complicated than that, but the financial guarantee is what took me so long. After visiting the Consulate, I felt a rather unusual mixture of relief, excitement, and terror at the same time, but I think once I get over there I’ll feel like I’m finally home. 🙂
Welcome!
Hi everyone, thanks for visiting my blog. Since I work almost entirely online, I can feel a bit isolated, so I thought I might give this a try. I’ll be posting select features from my various websites here, along with cool stuff I find on the internet and general chitchat about life.
